Welcome to The Professional Creative Podcast. The overlooked potential of a good thank you page. How many times have you purchased something or signed up for something, and you got just a generic blank, maybe gray page that says, thank you or, you know, your submission was received. And it is such a lost opportunity for us because This is the moment that someone said yes. This is the moment that they bought your thing or signed up for your email list, and it's an awesome opportunity for us to meet them and totally delight them. So in today's episode, we're gonna talk about 5 ways to really make the most of your thank you page. In my business, we use thank you pages for just about everything, for our free resources, so they can dive in right away. We use them for our free live workshops, And we, of course, use them for all of our paid offerings, like our Flourish membership and the immersion course and the mastermind application and all of the things like that as well, the immersion live conference.

So I wanna talk to you about really what I Think about when we go into building a thank you page. You know, the reality is that it's an engagement tool that can absolutely help strengthen and grow the relationships that you have with your audience. So this is our thank you page framework. Basically, we start with a welcome and a thank you. So we use either an image or a video that represents us and shares a genuine excitement. Like, think virtual fist bumps or virtual hugs, high fives, and celebrations. And I love to just at a personal touch. So I often will welcome, specifically, like, students or members with a video of me sharing my own excitement about that they just made.

And then we always like to put their next steps. So oftentimes, they said yes to the thing, and they're like, What do I do now? So we really guide them on what to expect, what we want them to do next, and it could be everything from checking your email to engaging with some kind of content or maybe encouraging them to share or go ahead and log in. And then we also So often use the thank you page to either put a bonus or an upsell. So offering an additional free resource is one amazing way to delight your audience or giving them an opportunity to upgrade their experience and add something else that you have. You know, one way to think about this is if you are maybe you're buying your favorite makeup in the world, and there's, Like, you're at checkout, and it reminds you that you might want a brush or you might want makeup remover to go with it. And you're like, yes. I'm so glad I didn't forget that, and you add it to the cart. This is a similar approach.

Is there something that you have that goes perfectly with whatever they just said yes to, that they would genuinely want, that would help them more. And so the thank you page is a great way to just, let them know that. So for instance, on the thank you page of our free guide. So I have a free a 40 five ish page PDF guide on how to get started simply in surface design. And on the thank you page, You're invited to purchase a hard copy of it. So it's so big that it's understandable that you might want, like a physical copy to hold and, you know, sit down with. You'll have to go check this out. It's bonnie christine.comforward/guide, and you can see it and exactly how we've done the thank you page for it.

And so it invites you that, like, hey. If you don't want to read this whole thing on your computer, you can by the hard copy of it. Okay. Picture this. Have you ever spent hours scouring through your video or maybe your podcast content trying to find that one place that you said that one thing, gotten or never found it and you had to rerecord everything, I've been there, and it's so frustrating and honestly a huge waste of time. But it hasn't happened to me ever since I started using Searchie. I love to add just a really thoughtful design element and graphics to this page. You want it to feel on brand and like they're in the right place. So here are 5 ways that you can create extra impact with your thank you page. Number 1 is, again, to really think about additional resources. Can you provide something of value like an ebook or a tutorial? Or maybe you have another opt in or free resource for your business because this might be their 1st introduction into your world. So what else can you share that's relevant to this person that further invites them into your world and completely delights them. Number 2 would be to serve them with an upsell, And this is similar to what I just mentioned. An upsell can truly be a service if it builds upon what they're already seeking from you or it makes their life or their business easier with a quick win or something exciting or something useful.

Number 3 is to use this page to generate excitement. Use videos, share next steps or sneak peeks to build anticipation around your offer or what's coming. Just use it to give them so much love. Number 4 is to use your thank you page to make a connection. So if someone signs up for your free for or buy something from you. They are officially engaged with you and your brand. So use this as a chance to learn more about them and maybe tailor future offerings to them. Maybe you could ask them a few questions through a survey or maybe a feedback form.

Even 1 question can be immensely valuable and something simple enough for them to say yes to. Number 5 is to just meet them in more places. Promote your text list if you send texts out or other platforms like Instagram or YouTube, but just give them another way to connect with you. Many of our students sign up for our text so that they have an extra way to get alerts when they go live or we have special announcements. So this quick episode is just to have you really think about the potential of your thank you page. Is there anything that you need to go refresh or ad to really delight your customers or your audience when they come into your world. I'd love for you to just spend 15 minutes auditing your current thank you pages, and just brainstorm different ways that you can enhance it. I can't wait to see what you do.
